The Colour Purple

Happy New Year!

I hope you’re warm and dry and getting into the swing of 2014. If your wedding is suddenly ‘This Year’, it must be especially exciting!

At tiny card company HQ we’re looking forward to a fabulous 2014. Alongside making stationery for lots of lovely couples, we’re having a bit of a makeover and I’m practically bursting to share our new look with the world.

Each year Pantone pick a new Colour of the Year, for 2014 they’ve chosen ‘Radiant Orchid’. Whilst there are always colour trends, I’m a firm believer that each bride will go her own way. I’m a sucker for purple though, so here’s my (slightly self-indulgent take on the 2014 colour of the year.

 Combine with sophisticated grey…

Shades of grey and pewter will add a touch of elegance. I love the idea of an extravagant Gatsby style wall of purple orchids, in silver mercury glass.

Country Flowers…

Partnered with lilac, cream and a touch of pale gold (possibly even a little wild-flower blue) Radiant Orchid has a far more relaxed feel.  Perfect for rustic or country garden summer weddings.

Those are my thoughts. I’d love to know if anyone is planning a purple wedding. What would you have named colour of the year?
