Work in Progress: New Anemone Collection
How is it nearly August already? Does anyone else feel like the year’s speeding by?
I hope you’re enjoying the Summer so far, we recently became the proud owners of a camper van named Sprocket. He needs a little work, but we’re planning to hit the road for a couple of weeks in September. I’m pondering whether he needs a separate blog following his transformation and adventures. I’ll keep you posted!
What I really want to share with you today is a little peek at what I’ve been up to in the studio.
I’m part way through printing samples for my new Anemone stationery collection. The design is based on elegant Japanese Anemones which flower in late Summer and pirouette like ballerinas in the breeze. I wanted a nod towards fairytales with this collection so the choice of a dancing modern-calligraphy typeface felt perfect. The collection will be available in three colourways, all drawn from my trip to Copenhagen last year. A beautiful two-tone blue, verdigris, and rose pink with rich copper typography. It took me a while to settle on the right colours, some of my starting points just felt to bright and brash when translated into print, but I’m really pleased with the results. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
There’s still some work to do before launching them on the website, little details like ribbons and envelope colours, which seemingly take for ever to pin down; professional photographs… If you’re interested in placing an order pre-launch though, please do get in touch, I’d be delighted to hear from you.
Until next time,
