Finding Inspiration: A Trip To The Epic Welsh Coast

After many years of talking about it and daydreaming about how nice it would be...

This Summer Craig and I finally bit the bullet and bought ourselves a camper van. The absolute dream would’ve been a proper vintage one, but to be honest our (much cheaper) nineties version is a much more practical choice in terms of actually getting where we’re going, and he (Sprocket, yes he is a he...) is kind of cool in his own way.

Last month we hit the road on our first proper trip to the west of Wales, not really knowing what to expect when we got there.

What we found was epic scenery at every turn, from Pembrokeshire’s generous greenness, to the dramatic peaks of Snowdonia and Anglesey’s unexpected sunshine. And all along the way beautiful, almost deserted, stretches of coastline.

I’ve always been inspired by the sea, I find it utterly mesmerising; the way it’s textures and patterns change from one moment to the next, the way light plays on it like a kaleidoscope never giving the same image twice. Here are a small selection of my photographs, (I’ve tried to be restrained, I could have shared so many more!) I hope you find the Welsh coast just as beautiful as I do (although let's make a pact not to all go at once, it might just loose its magic).
