frequently asked questions
CAN YOU SUPPLY DIGITAL FILES FOR US TO PRINT OURSELVES?
I’m afraid I don’t offer an artwork only service. My work is designed specifically for the silkscreen process and wouldn’t necessarily translate into other forms of print. The printing process the choice of inks and the texture of the paper stock are each integral to the finished product.
ARE YOU ABLE TO COPY A DESIGN I’VE SEEN ELSEWHERE?
Please don’t ask me to do this, I’ll only get offended. Not only is it a little soul destroying to be asked to replicate another designer’s work, it would be wildly unethical and in violation of copyright law. If you’ve seen a design you love, I can only encourage you to buy from the original designer.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE COLOURS OR TYPEFACES IN ONE OF YOUR DESIGNS?
I adore playing with colour and typography; it always amazes me how a small change to either can completely alter the whole look and feel of a design. Minor alterations are usually very straightforward, though the silkscreen process does have certain technical limitations, particularly where type is concerned. If you’d like to make adjustments to an existing design, let me know your thoughts; I’d be delighted to explore the options with you.
DO YOU OFFER LETTERPRESS PRINTING?
I do. Although I’m a silkscreen printer, I have a fantastic soft spot for letterpress; I’m delighted to offer letterpress printing as an option on certain items. It’s worth mentioning the Inkflower Press stationery collection has been designed specifically with the magic and quirks of the silkscreen process in mind, so some designs don’t translate directly. With a little tinkering though, it’s abundantly possible to create beautiful letterpress-friendly versions. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements before placing your order.
DO YOU OFFER A CALLIGRAPHY SERVICE FOR ADDRESSING ENVELOPES?
Unfortunately not at the moment. Should you wish though, I can send envelopes or any other stationery you wish directly to a professional calligrapher of your choice for writing.
is it possible to commission a bespoke design?
Bespoke commissions are an absolute privilege and always a labour of love, so I have to be incredibly disciplined and only accept a handful of bespoke projects each year. If you love my style, and are looking to create an exquisite stationery suite, uniquely yours, I’d be thrilled to unfold your paper dreams and help them bloom into reality.
